Why I Wear The Same Outfit and Its Leadership Significance (Part 2)

by | Jun 24, 2019 | Leadership

I recently received a question asking me, “Why do you wear the same outfit in every video?”

While to some this may seem like a coincidence, it is not. This choice is a strategic one, and I’ve chosen to wear the same outfit for two reasons: consistency and energy.

Last session, I shared about consistency, and today, I’m going to share about energy and its impact on leadership.

Session Recap

  • The simple act of making decisions degrades one’s ability to make further decisions.
  • The more decisions we make, the less quality those decisions become. Because our lack of energy causes a lack of focus.
  • Great leaders simplify regular or common decisions so they can focus their energy on the truly big ones.

Game Plan

Think about the decisions you make consistently each week. Now, put those decisions in two categories:

    • Automate
    • Simplify

What are the decisions that you can automate? What can you simplify? Take steps to reduce the number of decisions you make each day, each week. See what kind of energy you gain from making less decisions each time they come up.
